Nobody said it had to be an ACTUAL car... :) I'm pretty sure I won't be the only one to submit a toy or remote-controlled car. Plus, it's way too darn crappy to try to take pictures of a real car this time of year.
This is an RC car I bought "for my daughter," although naturally I enjoy it probably more than she does. I tucked the antenna along the back of the car for the sake of aesthetics.
My first submission with the D300! Shot on a table with a clear plastic film to catch the reflection. AlienBees for lighting. Cloned out a few specs of dirt on the plastic since I was too lazy to clean it more thoroughly.

Cool car, nice reflection, perfectly sharp, and well exposed ... but the image leaves me a little cold for some reason. Almost looks plastic, like a toy car. 7
Could have left a bit more space at the bottom so that there is equal spacing between the bottom of the reflection and the frame as there is space between the top of the car and the top of the frame. Another model... Viewpoint is eye level which is the most uninteresting, the entries that are much lower down with wider angle lenses tend to be more dramatic.
In my (limited) experience shots of toys dont tend to do well in challenges so if you are new to DPC and this doesnt score as well as you hoped this may be the reason
Like the shot itself, you have good sharpness and colour and the reflection works. Compositionally this is also good.
Its hard to pick out any particular thing that I dont think you have done well but for some reason the picture seems to lack a real wow factor for the viewer - 6 from me
Good shoot for begin a model - colors are great. Love the refection. I'm personally look the 1:1 scale cars in the challenge to be a more realistic Automobile Ad IMHO 5
