visually dull. Subject is directly in the middle of the picture. You can't see its face. The picture lacks drama.

In my humble opinion, it's too white around the subject, and the shadow from the spider could have been sharper, on focus and intensely dark, which would provide a very interesting result. It is basically a question of ilumination technique, which is the best kept secret of photography.
