Rotate 45 degrees (I was originally going for the arty angled approach which didn't work)
Desaturate
Crop
Sharpen
Widened the picture slightly to create the "void"
Adjusted curves to bring out the detail on the sails

Wow now that is an awesome image I don't think there is conflict but I don't care what the title of the contest is I am looking for nice images so You've got my vote for I'd say 7 you should know most everything I vote is around 3 or less so your super duper in my book.
