Probably not the most technically challenging shot, but this is most definitely me in a familiar pose with Holly. Shot outside because it's hard to find enough room inside for a portrait with an IW ;-) Used the long zoom on a tripod with the timer, figuring the distance from us subjects with that lens would let me guesstimate exposure and focus manually with more leeway than a shorter lens at a closer distance. I think that worked OK.
The drawback to that was that I had to RUN to get in place each time before the camera went off, trying to get the dog into position along with myself. I'm sure the neighbors were amused. And she's not quite 2, so she's still very much a puppy.
Hmmm ... noticed later the interval timer setting. D'oh! May play with that next time; could be very useful for situations like this.
PP - converted from RAW, rotated 1 degree, cropped, levels, white balance, burnt Holly's tongue and colored it uniformly and cloned out spot, burned my lips (forgot to wear lipstick) and dodged my teeth, burnt/blurred/cloned background mostly to minimize distracting light spots, dodged my neck, evened skin tone, added border, resized, sharpened non-skin parts of the subjects, blurred a few eye wrinkles (hooray for advanced editing!) and burnt the smiley ones slightly.

This is a beautiful shot and how wonderful that you got to share it with one of your pets! The outdoor lighting looks wonderful on your hair. Great shot!
Very nice. I love this photo because of the composition. Technically, you could have a bit more focusing on your eyes instead of your hair. Good job overall :)
