Challenge:Mundane (Advanced Editing I) Camera:Canon PowerShot G3 Location: Don't tell ya', you have to guess :) Date: Feb 22, 2004 Aperture: 8.00 ISO: 50 Shutter: 1/640 Galleries:Action, Water Date Uploaded: Feb 22, 2004
Ok, OK, it's another water shot.
But honestly, nothing about the water was specially set up. That's how it looks in the bowle.
I have cleaned it before making the pictures though ;)
As usual, I used my external flash and bounced it towards a white posterboard. I also used the internal ND-filter of the G3.
Postprocessing:
Neatimage,
Hue adjustment (desaturation of all colours beside red and blue, because we have a brownish bowle)
Level adjustment,
Cropping,
spotediting some imperfections (dropplets etc.) on the bowle away
resizing,
smart sharpening,
border addition

The absolute jmust mundane thing that you never want to think of and always have to use and its just there but not like this. EXTRAORDINARY! Love it. Love the select desat, the compostion , the great whoosh of the flush captured. EXCELLENT....oh BTW.....sorry...got to .....frame yeech!.....heck with it 10....gotta go....really....got... to....go.....!
Very clear and sharp picture. Composition is very interesting. The desaturation effect really makes the subject pop out of the shot. Love the crisp highlights in the water. It gives a great dynamic feeling of the swirling water. Contrast and brightness is perfect. "10"
I like the colors, the red and blue stand out from the rest of the photo very well. The way you stopped the water is nice, did you use the flash for that? I also like the composition, looks like you paid attention to detail with this photo. Great job.
Very cool. Great capture of the water. I think it would be better if you could have captured some of the blue and red running in the water also. Nice work!
Very crisp, very nice lines, effective colours. I'm sorry to say that the subject matter is not appealling, but you redeem yourself with a wonderful photo. 9
What a fantastic image. colours and the sharpness of details are superb. I have absolutely nothing constructive to say as i can't see how it might be improved. Inspiring. I'm going to take a picture of my toilet right now! 10!
I`ve noticed that a lot of voters don`t like the selective saturation effect...but here`s one that does and I like the clarity of the shot as well....9
I laughed when I saw this one. What a great idea for this challenge. I really like the high speed capture of the toilet bowl flushing and the colour balance. Good luck!
