a candid snapshot of a friend and his wife. I used gradient map to black and white and then curves to make the darks and lights darker. Slight rotate and slight crop. resize and USM.
I'm particularly proud of this because it's on manual exposure. The sunlight was bright and the shadows were dark, so I set it at an exposure that I thought would be good for a sunny day, and let the shadows be dark. Turns out, the detail in the shadows is pretty good, too, but my highlighted areas are not blown out. The sky wasn't blown out, either, but you can't tell so much in b/w.

One of those shots where you wonder if the photographer saw the shadow while taking the shot, or found it afterwards. I wish for you that you found it afterwards, because I have found myself that that's the most delightful way to interact with your own images. :)
excellent wonder. most of my photos are a surprise, but in this case I saw the shadow and was trying to capture it (though not for the challenge. I'm not that foresighted!).

Difficult lighting conditions. The shadow on the face is not ideal but strangely adds interest. Good choice going for the mono conversion. Street photography is usually to complex for colour
