A very gray and overcast day, but my husband and I ventured up the coast to the Piedras Blancas lighthouse. The elephant seals are arriving here for their winter stay. This is a young one coming out of the water. The babies are so cute, the adults not so much. Here's another one:
Oh, well done, tinky2. I hope to get down that way to get my elephant seal fix this winter. It is such a spectacle. These behemoths are completely oblivious to the spectators as they go about their (ah,er) matrimonial affairs.
