Herons are camera hogs, they get in a lot of my shots too. DOF works well to isolate the bird from the water behind it. That's a nice lens that you used for this.
Very nice heron, well composed. Agree with previous suggestion to make the reflection a bit more golden (but don't over do it, as it will de-emphasize the heron).
beautiful heron shot. I like the way you have this framed. I might have increased hue/saturation on yellow by+2-3 to see if I could get a little more golden reflection in the water.
