This is my first attempt at a duotone, and I didn't realize how to get this effect in Photoshop ("why is this option disabled??"). During processing, I saw the blur of the streetlight right down the middle. Unfortunately, this is my best shot of the day, so I'll tough it out with angry voters.
In Photoshop, I bumped up the contrast, gave a slight adjustment to curves, and desaturated before going to the duotone menu. I picked a sepia-looking second color, and resized the image for submission.

you made the nice choice going with the sepia. i love your chioce of DOF as well, i like how the trees in the back round are enough that oyu can tell he is sorrounded by trees and fallin leave. cute moment, well put together.
That's funny - the street lamp did not bother me, I just accepted it as part of the background. I love how all pictures here are "supposed" to be staged so perfectly. I love the blurred background and how you've caught the boy looking up at the enormous tree.
OK, this just goes to show how out of touch I am with DPC. I didn't even notice the freakin' light pole 'til you told me about it. I really will work harder on my "find the technical/compositional flaws" skills. I just really liked it, that's all. :-)
