This lovely young lady and her friends sell scarves just inside the gate at a coalition base in Afghanistan. I now have lots of scarves. It seems a shame to me that the women in this country - if these girls who sell scarves are any indication of the beauty here - hide their faces as they reach womanhood.

Deb, this is so incredibly beautiful! It is haunting and mesmerizing. Congratulations on truly amazing photography to showcase in your portfolio -- aside from a most successful challenge!
Deb, your work with capturing portraits continues to get more powerful. The colortone is perfect for this and her eyes are amazing. Such a beautiful shot. It's very mesmerizing.
Deb, this is so beautiful! The minute I saw it in the thread, I knew you'd get a good score. Actually, I think it deserved much better. You did a wonderful job in PP and I love the eyes.
good stuff. The various shapes in the catchlights are quite interesting/ arresting/ confusing. Not sure if I'm paying more attention because or in spite of them. Really pretty light.
Very nice. Wonderful detail, square centered crop is perfect and her gaze is almost hypnotizing. I hope this scores well. Bumping up to 9 for now.
Back one more time - I think I see a tiny little photographer in the eyes of that little Afghani girl. Could be mistaken though - but I dont think so. ;)
