The background is too distracting, having a texture in the background distracts me from the pine cone. You should try having the background farther from the subject so that it looks more blurry.
Neat shot. I think a differently colored background would have given this shot a little more interest, though your current background does serve to provide a nice contrast with the pine cone.
This is okay to me. I see the texture and I like the background of ...looks like pavement? Lighting is okay, but the texture on the cone seems a little soft in focus - it doesn't really "pop" out at me.
