Just happened on this while looking at past color contests. I really love this one because of its simplicity and subtlety. I would have given this a very high rating had I been a voting member at the time of this challenge.
Sorry I didn't vote in this contest. It was over before I knew it, but I would have given this a 9. I love the subtle shades of black. I think this is one that depends on how the viewer's monitor is set and it looks perfect on mine. Congrats on the top 10 finish!
Very nicely done. I do have a couple of white spots on the left lapel showing up on my monitor. They should have been tacked away or clonned out. I, myself, often wear this "Regis" combination black on black and get many compliments. May you fair just as well! It also makes me mad that I didn't think of it! BOL. BTW, just a matter of taste. . . since you have many angles in the cut of the cloth (both jacket and shirt) I felt that a Windsor knot would have been more appropriate!
I like this! I wonder whether it would be more striking if the shirt where white, and perhaps a white handkerchief in the pocket? The main subject would still be black...?? I appreciate that may not have been the look you were after, I'm just thinking aloud in terms of what I might prefer in an image.
