Very creative take on the challenge. You have lovely colors and textures within a larger (somewhat chaotic) texture. You are a touch overexposed in a couple of spots but not terribly distracting...

Answer: no. However, the smoothness or crinkliness that you ahve captured in those curls is, and is well evinced here. Punchy bright colours are very good. The only real downside for me is that I fail to find a solid subject in this shot - it would make a great wallpaper, perhaps, but not something to hold the eye of itself.

Rules seem to indicate texture can be shown by varying shades of light on a 3D object as well as plain old surface texture. This pic certainly has the former. Liked the carnival of colors.
