Happened upon this purely by chance. It was really foggy, so I went out looking for a specific shot (not this). Took a wrong turn, and this little gem was staring me in the face :O)

post challenge:
Couldn't be happier with the result on this ! To finish 7/500+ in a field of such incredible images obviously put a big smile on my face. The most important thing here - is that I've really been searching to "find myself" as a photographer... to figure out what I really want to capture. This is definitely along those lines. :O)
Thanks for the comments & the favs! You'll definitely see more of this theme...

Wow. This is an amazing image. By far the best I have seen yet in this challenge. The reflection is perfect and the mist adds a magical feeling to it. If something could be better it would be that the blue tone on the bottom of the image is little out of sync with the gray overall tone. But thats a small detail.
8 - Beautiful image. Sure the detail is much more discernible 'bigger'. Like the crop. This image/scene probably lends itself well to a few variations.
Oh, that is beautiul, I gave a sigh of appreciation just now when the shot loaded! Absolutely gorgeous. What delicious blues, and I love the crisp silhouette of the tree on the right. Mist is very atmospheric, and contrasts nicely with the sharp detail of the tree. There's something quite poignant about this tree in the middle of water, it works on many levels... life, death, clarity, mystery and I love the haunting stillness.
