For some reason I've always loved the patterns nature creates more than anything man ever can. This gave me a great opportunity to experiment with the signs of aging left by a tree shown on my home furniture.

Interesting ridges in the tree. More contrast would really bring out the subject. Looks like you found a great subject for the challenge. The abstract waves in the ridges make this composition fairly interesting. Post processing by bringing out the darks would really make this pop.
Indistinct detailing, and small contrast ruins this. Could have been a contender, but the quality of the shot lets it down badly. In terms of the organisation compositionally it is well done though.
