Some brown rice. I used light from above and from the right side. I took about 30 shots until i got one that was the way i liked it. I wanted the background and forground to be out of focus.
I am new to this so go easy on me :)

Would have focused differently. I don't care for the blurr coming in first. Different colored background might have brought the rice in focus to the eye more
If only there were a touch more interest at the point of focus - perhaps a spoon or something, just to break up the unrelenting similarity of this - even the background tones very closely with the rice. Not really enough detail to capture the texture of that rice where its in focus, even though sharpness seems ok.
