Inside my favorite Indian / Bangladeshi restaurant. The waiters often give me samples of items not on the menu, such as this delicious glassful of Isabgul hops (seeds) and rose syrup. I was struck by the color of the unusual beverage.
Funny shooting conditions: it was quite dark indoors. For added height, I had the camera on the table and the lens balanced on the edge of an upturned table knife!
Then, I counted on the autofocus assist lamp, which bounced off the glass, but apparently didn't truly find it in the dark!
Cropped and considerably lightened the photo. Increased color saturation. Dodged the glass and tablecloth. Clarify tool on low. Strong denoise -- tried not to oversmooth. Sharpened slightly.
You did a great job. This is an intriguing photo - the different light sources and the strange beverage in the glass, and the guy, of course. Very cool perspective, too.
Neat shot! And I love the story that goes with it. Just a suggestion, but you might crop just above the fellow's head. That lighted ceiling fixture draws my eye out of the frame. Love the color of the red stuff in the glass.
Wow that drink sounds exotic...a New Yorker you must eat out alot...I go to a restuarant.... about twice a year! I might add you were very trusting to balance your lens on the knife like that
