I do think I like the composition here, perhaps a crop on the right to come closer to the music page and lose the dark shadow. The finish on the violin is much richer here, so perhaps the issue is to get a softer more diffused light on the whole and go for bringing out that wood color. Thinking about where to place your light source to eliminate the harshness will be helpful. I don't have any good way to light images as yet so it becomes trial and error - at least I am not ruining film!! Overall the simplicity of your first image is nice and the composition and saturation of this one, with the better point of view is nice. Are you going to do it over? If so I would love to see how it comes out. |
