I was discussing with my 10-year old nephew how sometimes what's going on around the action is as interesting as the action itself. I don't know if I convinced him. All of his pictures were of the bulls and riders themselves. Mine were all of the cowboys on the fences. Between the two of us, we had the rodeo covered, I guess.

good shot! I like the small amount of motion blur in the hand to show movement in the image. I also like the way you have composed the foreground person on the right so the other people are still visible in the shot. I'm a little curious abou the decision to use black and white on this photo... The contrast and the darker tones throughout this photo seem to create some 'blandness' in the overall image in this mode.. keep up the good work :) = 7 - setzler
Love the b&w, and I really think this shot gives a strong sense of "place", (or, corner of your world). Gives a sense of tension, and also of the action about to take place. I'm sure you will get comments about the focus, but I like it. This is a shot that tells a story. Good work. lhall-8
you get a ten because i'm right there in it and it sets a scene perfectly, even if it is a teeny bit fuzzy, i mean what are you gonna do, ask them to hold still?

Great journalistic kind of shot...don't mind the out of focus spectators...lots of action, good angle...really gives a feel for the atmosphere of a rodeo. Nicely done...
I wish more of this shot were in focus because the subject is interesting. I think B&W was a bad choice here because it flattens it too much. It's hard to see where the cowboy ends and the metal gate begins.
I like the angle of this shot very much. The position of the photographer makes this rather intimate, as if the viewer were the bronco rider. The viewer senses the excitement of the wait. Nice job, scored a bit lower due to lack of focus.
