My mother sent this to me last week. It's a photo of her and my dad in 1961 or thereabouts. My mom is a pianist and my dad was an opera singer. We moved to Germany where my dad made a career singing.
This picture has huge sentimental value for me, seeing my parents together like that. This was before I was born and before things got complicated in life.
I scanned it in and processed it to make it sharper and clearer. The actual photo is a little washed out.
What a GREAT slice of life! Without them where would you be?? Thanks for sharing the story too, that's awesome that you have so much talent in your family!
This is awesome. Great work on the processing to both add contrast and keep the aged factors. Excellent. (And it's a good shot to begin with, so thank whoever took it, too!)
Wow I like what you have done with this and I am sure your Mim would lovwe to se what you have done with the processing to make it more pleasant to view.
Alicia, what a great photo and a great story! I'm so glad you shared this with us. From your story it sounds like maybe they aren't together anymore. That's always painful whatever the circumstances.
When I first saw it, it reminded me so much of my parents. My mom and/or dad were always sitting at the piano playing old hymns and one or the other of them or us were standing around singing with them. Did you inherit your dad's musical gifts? I hear it's often a genetic thing.
Wasn't life different back then. I notice they are all dressed up, and they are singing and playing the piano.
Ok. . I'll shut up now. This just brought so much in my heart up. Thanks, Alicia!
