the image i entered in the challenge is a different process of this black & white version which was in the sept black and white side challenge overnight .. i stuck it in my workshop folder when i opened it up in the morning coz i thought it was good enough to enter in the free study .. i was hoping it would get more than a 6 ...
thankyou to greg for giving me the idea for the title which i believe helped boost the score & thank you everyone for your encouragement & excellent comments ..
at last i got a 7!!!
the print is slightly different because i got the exact tones i used in the challenge entry after i'd resized it .. you cant really use a resized image for a print because it loses quality .. the print isnt quite as red ..

WOW!! Look at you, this is totally different to anything I've seen you shoot before. I stumbled upon this when I was looking at other pics in this fs, just in case you're wondering what on earth I'm commenting on this for lol.
And look how many ppl entered, ha! 503, what a drag that must've been to vote on, who on earth would've time to do that, esp if they had a slow internet.
And oh, the 29 faves! Imagine if you got that now!
Wow, what an atmosphere. Man made or natural, its real. I noticed a huge change in the pattern of weather here. Lots of humidity, even in December. Great shot, and a fiery, hellish sky.
Gee Roz, sorry it has taken me so long to comment on this magnificent shot
Huge congratulations on the 7ths place (in a free study!!!!!!!!) the new personal best and on breaking the 7 barrier for the first time
A brilliant image that almost blurs the line between photography, painting and CGI such is its power and intensity
The subject matter is magnificently disturbing, it looks like a scene from hell and the orange hue that you have included just intensifies the feeling of heat fire and almost a choking atmosphere
Roz, this is just incredible, I love it, the pp is amazing. Look at those fantastic clouds, the colours the lights and darks everything is perfect. How did you make such a scene look so beautiful on one hand and so menancing on the other. Simply outstanding work, what can I say but AMAZING!
OMG, ROZ!!!! I've totally not been paying attention!!!
HUGE Congrats on breaking the 7-barrier and on your PB. WOW I'm so proud of you!! I bet you're happy, huh? Love this shot - it's absolutely stunning. You had it coming, girlfriend - with all of your innovative and courageous processing adventures. Yay for you!!!
Roz - what an amazing image!!! It is an absolute delight to share this PB landmark with you - especially with us both approaching our 1st anniversaries here at DPC :~)
This is my second post, since rollover, and I have just finished talking to Roz, to congratulate her on this entry, which is her personal best, and I am so very proud of her achevement, with this image.
I was looking at the image when speaking to her on the phone, and noticed something.
Do you see what I see.
I see a person face in the cloud of smoke, next to the tall black chimmey, near the centre of the image. It has two eyes, a round nose, and a mouth which is blowing out the golden/red firey flames. Can you see it also.....
A W E S O M E.......
Love it Roz.. i live just down the road from the subject and it always looked like an eyesore. I can see it in a different light now as I drive past. Well done.
What a score and look how well you have done with this stunning image..... Way to go girl, and it won't be long before you ribbon.....
I am so very proud of you, and I really LOVE this image.....
I think you have finally got what you so deserve and I believe this is the beginning of something good.....
Yes, you finally got that magical 7 that we all strive for with our images.....
Oh Roz! I am over the moon excited for you and the success of this outSTANDING photo! You broke 7, you got a personal best, and placed 7th out of 501 entries! It's about time your work got the recognition it deserves!
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!! And may it be the first of many!
WOW! I have no idea how you processed this but I would love to see the original for this. Very powerful and strong shot, the bottom could have used darker shadows so it didn't look so light compared to the top
Very strong image. this would be a great shot for global warming campaign. I really like the sky, composition and your post-processing. Good luck in the challenge.
Definitely a powerful image, although I feel that there is a bit too much processing here (especially on the middle structure which looks somewhat cartoonish). 7
