A pup at the home of a good friend of mine, exploring with her mouth. My friend's husband does a lot of woodworking so there are bits and pieces of spare wood all over the backyard. In addition to the pup's expression I liked the way the wood in the background mirrored the shape of the pup.
PP - converted from RAW, cropped, levels, increased daturation, dodged eye, added border, resized, sharpened with noise reduction, colored log more brown, burnt a little on pup's ears and head, then colored to match rest of pup.

A very sympathetic and appealing portrait - even to a non dog-lover like me! The focus o the face is good, with a pleasing level of texture revealed, and the drop off in focus is spot on.
