Taken with the 50mm, 420ex speedlite attached to the camera by a hot shoe cord given to me by scarbrd, and bounced off a silver umbrella that we picked up with a strobist kit. Just a quick snapshot to see how the setup would work. I have the flash and umbrella attached together with the light stand attachment and then held it out to my left. I am sure I look pretty crazy with the camera in one hand and this wild light setup in my other - but I am really pleased with the results.
I think you need to take a picture of you taking a picture holding all that crap. This is why there are two photographers in the family. Well, three, actually. Get Rowan to lay on the floor and get Aidan to take the shot of you taking the shot. I'm horribly envious about the lights thing.
