Liberty is a tribute to goodman & her amazing image Cherika
Cherika was the blue ribbon winner of High Contrast II, October 'o6.
I didn't go for the FULL High Contrast, my daughters skin doesn't have the same texture as Cherika.
I want to SINCERELY THANK my precious daughter for taking on this challenge 'with' me and giving her all to help me achieve this image.
I love that participating in DPC gives me interesting ways to spend time with my family - GRIN - and I love them for supporting me while I grow - SMILE!
And Lesley - you are such a BEAUTIFUL, talented and generous photographer - I SO ADMIRE you - almost every image I see of yours makes me think 'I wish I'd taken that' - SMILE!

Quite a brave choice to try and deja vu 'Cherika', the fact that youare sitting on a new personal best shows it paid off big time. However this picture is not about what you score it is about having the most magnificent portrait of your truly beautiful daughter. I hope this is getting framed and is to be hung on a wall somewhere.
Oh Lisa! You did so good! Congratulations! What a courageous undertaking to emulate Lesley's phenomenal work -- and you pulled it off BEAUTIFULLY! And what a precious photo to have top honors on your profile page.
Lisa, CONGRATS on your HM! I knew this would score very well - the b/w conversion is absolutely gorgeous and your model's eyes are simply penetrating. Wonderful work!
Well done on an excellent reproduction of an image from one of the GREAT DPC photographers...the very lovely Lesley Goodman! Great score and congrats on the HM
7.2???? HOLY WACK GIRL!!!!! this is truly amazing. yes, it is a replica of Les' shot but you really put your own touch to it... i automatically knew it was a Lisa photo before i even saw your name by it. Lovely work my darlin'!
Congrats! This was the one image that I thought was a pixel-for-pixel match when I first saw it. Even though I then saw it wasn't, that impression stayed with me, and I gave it a 10.
Lisa, this totally rocks. I didn't get a chance to vote but I did run through the thumbnails and actually got the sense of deja vu when I saw this one. And your daughter is absolutely gorgeous! Tell her congratulations from me - she earned the star for 5th, too! And you have a wonderful WONDERFUL shot to grace your top row.
YES..... YES..... YES..... This is your and I LOVE it so very much. You did such a great job with this one and just LOOK at your score..... Way to GO dear friend.....
I am sure Lesley goodman will also be very touched by this rendition of her image by you.
The girls look so similar!!! I wish you had more detail, texture, DOF and contrast, like the original. You did a fantastic job though, and this is very nice tribute to goodman.
Let me start by saying by its self your photo would be deserving a ribbon…..BUT…We are comparing to those that have proved exceptional before our attempts. IMHO your lighting, composition, and pose perfect. Yours misses on only one aspect, the hardness of the model, there is a innocence to your young lady, with the original there is none, and that is what made it a blue ribbon winner. You attempted to emulate a tough subject, my vote a 9.
Absolutely wow! The B&W tones in this photo composition are simply stellar! You have a great dynamic range in your shadows and hightlights. Love the square crop for it really keeps the viewers attention tightly focused on your main subject. Love the look on the little girl's face it has much emotion - one just wonders what is so astonishing in what she sees. A very nice emulation of the original.
