I hadn't been out to my favorite shooting spot since before I left for the summer, back in May. I made it out the other morning, and it felt great to be back. It was the perfect morning, foggy and cold, with a soft sunrise. Somewhere toward the end of my time there, I saw this ladybug on a milkweed, and shot a single frame, with a touch of fill-flash from my hotshoe mounted 430EX, with Sto-Fen diffusor. I love the darker Earth tones; to me it feels like Autumn. This is almost straight from camera, with only a minor exposure bumb in RAW processing, and a touch of curves in PSCS3. It's going to be an early winter this year, you can see it if you know how to read the little signs.

YES! finally a ladybug that is the right color....I don't think I have ever seen a lady bug as red as they normally are presented. Beautiful color scheme, this could be a tad sharper in my opinion but I love the dynamic between the hole in the leaf and the ladybug all hidden in its shell
