I just got back to school from a cross country meet and my mom was running late to pick me up (bet not alot of other DPCers can say that!) and no one was there, so I figured I should try and get a closing shot since it was the last night for the contest. All I did was cover up the top half of the flash when taking the picture to get the shadows.
All I did was open in photoshop to save for the web. No other processing.

I understand the message you are trying to convey, but it just looks like a dark shot. I would have preferred you showing someone leaving the gym and closing the doors.
Very nice idea. I like shots where objects emerge from the darkness. If I were to crop this photo, I would crop above the blue floor and red line so that the gym floor is coming out of the darkness but still have some mystery to it.
