 Someday, someone is going to buy this house on the corner of Camac and Pine Streets and fix it up real nice. It will lose most of its charm and all of its textures. The entrance around the corner from this window is marvelous and the corner is covered with red, orange and yellow trumpet vine lilies, 2 stories high. Marvelous stuff. The people who will do this will be younger and affluent and will have never seen a movie in black in white. Pity.

I am so impressed with the subject matter you are taking for this black and white side challenge.. This is just perfect, especially the light and shade in this wonderful pleasing composition.

I really like the textures in this shot. I might have liked to see the sides of the windowframe as well.

Yeah, they will never have eaten any lead-based paint as a toddler, ridden in a car without restraints, or enjoyed unsupervised play time outdoors after dark in summer. Their first car will be a luxury SUV & when they go to college, their parents will buy them a condo with cable TV & broadband internet. I have absolutely nothing in common with them! But I like this shot!

Get out there and shoot as much of the house as you can before it changes. There was one like that in my neighborhood, and I was always going to go next weekend. Next weekend finally came, and it had been completely "restored". My lesson. My loss. 8)

Mmm, yeah. When a house is lived in a long time, it tends to take on the character of the owners and it is a real loss when the owners leave and the unique character of the space is lost. You captured a real keepsake here.
