Thanks for all the helpful comments. I didn't think of this idea until the last hour. Didn't quite have enough time to pull it off like I wanted. That was another reason why the title "Desperate".

The sense of desperation seems to come through despite the photo being but a shadow. I would probably find it more effective if I knew what it is you're reaching for. Incidentally, I like the plain colored but textured background.
