airplanes on my thighs stay perfectly still until i tap my toes and dance. they zoom around but never above my waist. they ride low and never soar high until i shed them and throw them up towards and starless sky. pumpkins in my nose tell me of a time i never had. maybe i was too young to remember... but i did. i was only nineteen. just a little girl. you told me you had for a long time. and i listened. you questioned me and i listened. i never knew what to say but morning came and i thought it felt right. the clouds moved quickly through the skylight and the next moment i was on an airplane soaring high above the toes but never above my waist. i danced but i forgot about the starless sky. tomorrow is in my ears singing and riding high on yesterdays time but the singing never stops and i never stop humming. i even hum it as low as i can but the boombox is cranked up high. the waves crash through and now all the yesterdays buy the tomorrows and sell them for cheap. each day the price goes down. down down falling down. we're going under. i think its blue. but the further you go the darker it gets and soon you reach the starless sky. scoop up the white sand. hold my hand.
