I saw these crosses along the highway east of Memphis on a trip there this week. I stopped and shot about 20 photos. This one I shot with a wide angle lens and I liked it the best.

I won't be left behind! :-) So I certainly can associate with this on a spiritual level. Very nice how you got the sunlight directly behind the biggest cross, presumably Jesus Christ's cross. The lighting is so good and you did a good job with the negative space theme. Good luck in the challenge! Grayce aka Gracious
I love this shot. I wanted to do something like this for "From the Ground Up" but couldn't get three crosses that looked right. To really add some *zing*, if you have a polarizer filter, or could deepen the blue of the sky, and make the crosses even darker, it would look nice, I think. Or convert it to bw to show simple and effective contrast. karmat
Striking shapes. Probably more appealing to someone with a religious connection to them, but maybe not. Because the crosses are in such dark shadow, I can't see the detail. For this reason, in my interpretation I am seeing the crosses as the negative space, visually, and the sky as the foreground. Either way I'd like to see more detail in the sky/ clouds to give more contrast to the blackness of the crosses. 5, Kavey
The reason why I like this photo so much is because of the negative space. The challenge states the the negative space should be the WOW of the photo. So many people used a bunch of blank space, but this one has the WOW I believe the challege was asking for. The position of the sun behind the middle cross is very appealing. It appears that you had divine intervention with the placement of the clouds because they are perfect. I really envy you being able to come out with such a good shot. I hope you win
This is a good shot. The sun is a little bright in the middle. I've tried to do a shot like this on a building having the sun behind the spire on it and it makes the middle of my shot too bright. I would have liked this more without the sun and maybe a bluer sky. 5
Nice placement of the sun. I think you could have given a little less exposure or something and gotten more color from the sky. I like the composition. It's simple and direct. This is a great example of converging verticals (not sure if that's good or bad) :o) I'm not very religious so this doesn't have much emotional pull for me, but it's a lovely pic just the same. ~indigo997
This photo is carries a lot of impact for me strictly through it's implied message. I like the composition of the crosses, and the use of neg spc is very good. lhall-8
