Cut the flower. Hold the flower to the sky. Take the picture. I actually had to take approximately 30 shots to get it right. Cropped a little bit; unsharp masked it a bit too ... unfortunately got a bit of halo effect around the stem and the picture's edge. That's it. Hope I average over 5.

Classic example of this theme - love the colors, exposure, composition, focus! I was at a photography presentation recently where the professional photographer speaker showed several photos of this theme - not one of them had the Wow factor that I think yours does. Nice work!
