it seems that lighting is a bit harsh and intense for an interesting composition, perhaps an indirect source of lighting and a more interesting angle would give this more artistic merit

Good color and good choice for the Challenge. Was there just a bit more detail (left side) that could have been pulled out of that mohair? Nice as you have it, but more would have been even better.

Hate to have to detangle that! ;) Would have liked the hook sharper since it's a main subject.
