 Well, I wasn't actually that close, not close enough to become lunch, so I needed all the power of a long lens, and then some cropping :) The photo was taken in the Wildlife Safari in Southern Oregon.

The shot is in RAW, converted in Lightroom, then I used NeatImage to denoise and sharpen, then minor dodging and color cast adjustment in Photoshop.

I know this wasn't an easy shot to get but the focus is what is ruining it for me. Its just not crisp enough for my tastes - good luck and keep going I did animal shots.

My eyes water just looking at its eye - ouchie! Poor thing. It probably got poked by a zoom lens - lol. I like the tongue.
