Dance floor candid.
Fun part was trying to time the lights and click when they moved into the frame.
This entry was NOT a silhouette! 1. a two-dimensional representation of the outline of an object, as a cutout or configurational drawing, uniformly filled in with black, esp. a black-paper, miniature cutout of the outlines of a famous person's face.
2. a view of an object or scene consisting of the outline and a featureless interior.
For what it's worth, for those that use LCD monitors - when editing or viewing, if you get up high over the monitor and look down at a sharp angle, you will see what you have been missing. I make a point of checking mine that way, especially when preparing prints. Most would be amazed at what will show in the deepest shadows or the brightest areas. Look from all angles. Certain angles will reveal "stuff" in what looks to be all-white, and other angles show more in the shadows.

Not your typical backlighting entry - loved this and gave it a 10. Just the right amount of detail in the shadows to make you want to look and look. Great shot!
Wonder why this scored so badly, was on of my top 10 picks. might have been the noise or the lack of detail (I don't believe it was all about uncalibrated monitors)

it worked! I did what you suggested Brad, and I could see her features; live & learn! BTW, I did & still think this is a great capture, very professionally rendered!
Another example of a magazine-quality photo getting a mediocre or low score at dpc. The only part of the magazine that dpc-ers seem consistently interested in are the advertisements.
this is pretty, the lighting around the female singer is really great; tho it does come off as a silhouette of the main singer as I cannot make out her features... a littl emore upfront light would have made it!
But still, great band/nightlife shot... only IMO (nuthin' humble about it!)
good luck! :)
I think it's a little too oversharpened and that draws focus to the guys behind her. If you were trying improve the focus on her you could mask them and just sharpen her.
