The last bite of salad (I sucked it clean of chicken salad first). on the glass tabletop facing the triple-digit sunshine coming in through the windows. I brought the fork w/me for purposes of photography & ate my lunch w/the plastic fork provided. My tripod was the tabletop. I leveled, cropped, reduced noise, & added one layer of Soft Light at reduced opacity to deepen the blacks.

While it clearly isn't backlit, I do find it visually interesting. I would suggest moving the leaf behind the fork if not out of the shot altogether. I think if you were to position the fork differently the difference in texture between the surface and the utensil could be very interesting. Perhaps a little post-processing could add interest as well.
