Call the Coroner!!! I've died and gone to DPC Heaven!!!
::Promptly Faints::
...A little while later...wakes up with a slightly disembodied feeling and wanders around DPC Heaven. Vaguely missing the ever present trolls (who apparently live in a darker, fiery inferno part of the DPC universe), has a distant and Earthly recollection of driving up a very windy canyon road of the Malibu Mountains; walking through brambles (ugh...look out for ticks); climbing up some large rocks (where the buzzards nest); avoiding the 100ft drop...YIKES; and photographing some distant mountains which are SACRED to me as one of the many sources of inspiration Nature has to offer. Hmmm...making adjustments for exposure for the sunlight takes some experimentation, but finally all appears well...and you are all seeing what I saw that morning (okay...so it's a little more purple...::sheepish grin::)
Wow...the comments (and votes) are so generous! THANK YOU!!
Clearly, a special thank you goes to my Nikon hero, Gringo, who taught me that to make a dream come true or more importantly...find an answer to a prayer...you don't have to look any farther than Just Over The Next Hill
Well, it's unlikely that my halo will glow blue like this ever again, so forgive me if I'll take this opportunity to float around on Cloud 9 for a while...

Congratulations on the blue, I missed voting on this and am sorry I did, it would have been another 10 from me. You have done a wonderful job and completly deserve your ribbon. Very happy to see you in the winners circle!!!
Mae, finally a ribbon and a blue one at that...what a stunning image in every way. You deserved your win. Congrats on a personal best and I am not sure, but is this the first ribbon for a D40? Your lens is a topic of envy for me...congratulations...many more to come!
Beautiful, but you've got some banding in the upper left. I get that sometimes when I push up the contrast in the sky too much. Did you apply the purple via a gradient or gradient map? That might have created the banding, too.
Since all my photo equipment was stolen and I am camera-less, I will spend time now voting...

TOTAL - 10 - love the purple! I can see this on my wall!
briantammy? :) Sure looks a bit like his work. Great layers, great colour, great light. Perfection, I gave this a 10. Came back to make a fav, such a memorable image. Good luck in the challenge!
