My first try to use BW.

Other editing steps were rotate, crop, dodge/burn (don't know which of those is which - used the one that makes things less dark) on the ceiling, brightness, contrast, resize, USM.

If possible, you could have corrected the tilt & perspective, so that the crooked columns would not distract from the subjects.

I love the lines created in this photo, although it looks like it may need to be rotated, as it's slightly crooked. Still a great shot - 7.
