Not really sure if this is considered painting with light, I found so many different takes on it while searching the internet but this is what I went with.
Set up candles on living room floor against a white wall. Only light source was from the candles glow and the match used to make the trails. Camera was set-up on small tripod w/self timer and a 15 second exposure. Moved match around candles.
Post processing included rotating ccw slightly, cropped, adjusted curves to darken the background. Cloned around top of candles so they would blend better into the darkness, blurred the carpet underneath slightly so it didn't look so much like carpet, USM & resized.
