I thought this was really interesting, and yes, very much like "a magazine shoot" -- and I mean that was a compliment! I feel this should have done much better (I was one of your 9's).

This might mean more if I knew who Athol Fugard was. Overall though the image feels more like a magazine shoot. I would crop the right quarter of the picture away. 6.

This is unfortunate that the roses dominate this portrait of the man. Or were you taking it on the sly?? Great subject nevertheless.
