Candid of a working cowboy (and Park Ranger) at Davis Mountains State Park in Fort Davis, TX. His name is Bounce McFerrin, and he spoke to us a long time about the history of cowboys and how cowboy work has changed (and stayed the same) since the Civil War. It was fascinating to talk to him. The boys loved Seth, the horse. Seth is 22 years old and has the softest nose I've ever felt. He ate apples from our hands and seemed to enjoy all the attention.

awesome horse - good lighting on the main subjects, but i am not a fan of the choice of crop - I think a much more powerful image would be to have the subjects on the left side of the image since they are both facing as if ready to head that direction
