This was taken around 7am after a heavy rain overnight; there was still a heavy mist in the air; I noticed these lovely rays of sun coming through the trees on the path and hitting the ground; unfortunately, I didn't have my slr, only my old p&s but the image is good for that camera...cropped, levels, curves, high pass filter,hue/saturation, cloned out a small branch, gothic glow added.
post challenge: thank you all for the comments and post challenge comments; this image has proven to me that it isn't the camera but the decisive moment you choose to take the image.

I cant wait to see what settings were used to get the sunlight though mist effect, I never seem to be able to catch it. The usual problem of taking a picture of airborne water.
Very nice - love the play of light on this. Only minor complaint from me is the upper left looks artifically gray. Could have titled this 'early morning magic'. :) Wonderfully seen and captured. Good luck in the challenge.
A beautiful shot. Just the right degree of softness and gently diffused light. The kind of image you dream of achieving. I hope you hang a print of this on your wall.
