 Taken in our kitchen around 7 p.m. Light came through window to my right.

PP - Levels, color correction, sharpened. Color saturation on eye, cloned out some blemishes. Added border and saved for Web.

I quite like the way the dramatic lighting contrasts with the undramatic facial expression. Nicely taken shot, all round.

The broad lighting really supports this subject. The hat is perfectly placed to provide a frame for his face....great control of the situation. I can't think of anything that would have made it better....10

The only thing I would adjust would be the color balance. It looks like there's a slight pink cast to the picture and the skin tones suffer from this.

OK, I think this is awesome. Some people may nail you for having half of his face in a shadow, and that may have some merit, but that is what I like about the shot. We see him, partly, for who he seems to be, but also have to recognize that we can never fully know somebody. Or maybe I just like the "drama" created by the shadow.
