unfortunately, this sight is pretty common in France. I mean both that and graffiti. In Marseille, graffiti covers literally every house - old and new apartment buildings, churches, historical monuments, everything. Ugh.
Busted is right! I remember reading a few years back about the deterioration of historical European buildings and monuments. This was actually one of the major causes of the problems.
