Both figures seem out out of focus. Perhaps if one was higher than the other and sharply focused on, it would make the shot better.

The way you've captured "shards" of black works nicely. The image seems in between a charcoal draawing and a clean black & white photo, and in this case, it almost works.

shot seems a tad out odf focus...tripod would probably help to make this a sharper shot.
