This is Lion Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park. My hubby and I got on the trail at 5:25am to make it the 14 miles round trip before the afternoon thunderstorms came in (with the first 7 miles being STRAIGHT -- relentlessly -- up hill!) When we got there, both of us took off -- each of us getting lost in taking pictures of the beauty around us. This is a candid shot -- me taking a picture of him taking pictures. It was one of the greatest physical accomplishments we'd ever done. We're all sore today, but quite proud of ourselves :)
Hmmm...14 miles round-trip...first 7 uphill...what are you complaining about you wimp, it was all downhill on the way back! ;-P
Great photo Sandy, very beautiful! I'll be going camping there myself in a couple of weeks. RMNP that is, not Lion Lake, the hike sounds to difficult. ;-)
Sandy - Excellent image. Love RMNP. One of my favorite places on the planet. Thanks for sharing this accomplishment of yours - can't wait to see more images from this trip
you rock sandy! hope you are not still sore. the view is magnificent, the sky is so blue and clear. did you take a dip in that pond, after that crazy long hike?
Beautiful scenery! Congratulations on your accomplishment! That is a long, strenuous (did I spell that right?) hike. You captured the beauty there nicely!
