Why are there two people just standing over the body with their backs turned? That to me makes it look staged, even if it isn't. It's still a good picture, and a great idea.
I disagree; if you look at the score distribution, the really high scores and the really low scores are about even in number, and they cancel. The majority of voters gave this a medium score. I don't think this is a great shot technically, and that's why it got voted down. The whole "violence" factor does make one wonder what the purpose of the photo is... I personally still don't "get it"; and if there's nothing to get - if I'm just supposed to appreciate it for what it is, I can't, because it just doesn't look appealing to me technically.

well....this photo is a bit disturbing. Yet, the perspective is different and interesting....I hope you set up this photo, and it wasn't a real person you were photographing. Very creative, but hard to look at...
I hope to God this isn't real! If so, I think it is in poor taste. Still, dealing with the challenge, it is shot (no pun intended) from an interesting angle. Too bad your DOF isn't deeper.
A powerful photograph. Made more intense by the out of focus immediacy of the shot. Taken quickly as if to escape the reality of the scene. Nicely done.
Technicaly, this is an ok photo, but I'm marking down lower because it seems a little exploitative. I'm not saying that this topic can't be photographed, and I also trust that that guy wasn't really shot, but when I look at it just on its own, I just don't get the photo. It's just not especially visually appealing or provocative....
i'm gonna wanna hear the story on this one. ten for grabbing it. hope if anything that dramatic happens near me i'll be confidant enough to take a picture. you should definitely win this challenge.
Are you a homicide detective or just a passerby? Nice newspaper shot, something the AP might take. If this is a real scene I feel bad for the family. Maybe a little to realy for this site, but good shot none the less. I would like to see your other comments on this photo.
Is that real? If so, it's amazing that you had the presence of mind to compose the shot that way because it's a 10 from a fit-the-challenge perspective.
If this is real I don't see how it could have logically happened. for one, the persons body seems unnatural, two, the hieght of the bullet hole "appears" to be lower than eye level, which I would assume to be the area of impact due to the blood at the head. But thirdly, I could be wrong, but the angle of the bullet upon impact of the glass appears to be at a right angle, but if that bullet were to hit the person in the picture it would have had to enter at an angle in closer approximation to the angle that the body is lying. I thus conclude it is staged, but nevertheless clever take on the challenge. (7)
