So when I saw this I instantly thought "she did it again!" I actually started to write a comment and then I got sidetracked trying to determine whether or not it was based on an actual painting. After probably 30 minutes of searching through endless art sites, I gave up and forgot to comment on this. So...I absolutely love it!

I don't usually go for the professional model shots on this site, but this was just a stunner in every way. I love the detail of her dress, her look, the lighting, composition; the only thing I felt distracted was the background on the right, behind her face-a bit busy...but did set off her coloring well. Vogue or not, this was a very different photograph for this site & certainly for this challenge, & very well done! Congrats on your Top 10 finish!!
I'd rather see the results of you going down the Vogue road than an ultra-grunge, anti-beauty road which seems to be the general fashion with some. I think cropping out the hand might help a little. BUt then again, it is a nice image everywhichway.
To me, the cropping was excellent. I would not change a thing about this photo. Meets the Challenge and makes me think of some wonderful works in painting

Very nice composition. I had this originally as an 8 when I quickly sorted the other day, but now that I'm back commenting I think I'll bump it up. Maybe my original vote was because the skin was too perfect at first glance, but really the processing works for her expression. I also like the inclusion of her hand (even if it is cut off) because it gives a since of reality to her stance.
hmmm, svetlana? usually a beautiful woman and a foreign title are a dead giveaway, looks very similar to the kalyna shot.....oh well, guess i'll find out soon enough /8
