 My husband, a carpenter, pretending he's working on the shed roof...he didn't like this shot because it was staged..haha..probably should have put some nails in his hand; but at least he was willing to get up on that ladder for a few minutes and model...
crop, high-pass filter at about 48% to reduce the color of the layer below, desaturated background, usm in lab mode, dodge/burn a couple of spots.

This could work well if the crop weren't so tight. I like the subdued tonality of the shot.

I think if you had cropped this a little differently, it may have helped a lot. I'm finding myself looking for the bottom of his feet.

Just barely cutting the bottom of his feet off is a bit detracting I think, otherwise, a pretty good shot.
