- curves
- clone minor spots out of dark area
- select horse and background, layer
- horse layer, burn set to 8% opacity
- merge all
- resize
- usm (.35,100,10) +luminance
- repeat usm
- save as jpg

Nice composition, i feel that the image cud have been cropped a bit more from left so that the face of the horse wud have been more visible, i had to hunt for a few moments as to what it is
