I am so sorry this was DQ'd. It is an exceptional photo. Such great texture. Such great leading lines. I would love to see more work like this from you. It shows you have a real talent. I gave it a 10 in the voting FWIW.
So many images I have that are perfect for new contest but taken days before and not able to submit. Hopefully they will put out open category no dates involed so we can show what we think are our best works so far. Nice image. psart.
awww, it's a bummer on the DQ, but you've proven yourself as a fierce competitor for DPC...good luck in the future, you'll have another ribbon in no time :D
Oh I'm so sorry to hear about your DQ, this is an awesome shot, at least you know you have the talent to be on that front page. Keep your chin up and shoot for the blue!
First entry and a ribbon! Don't worry about the other guy's disqualification...you deserved this Cassie. Welcome to the addictive world of dpc...many more ribbons to come
congratulations on this fine shot. I love the fog winding through. It really looks like you burned in a little in the foreground, i hope it's natural, I really love this shot. nice job either way.
Hey, helluva first submission! This was one of the high scores I gave out. As the resident landscape photographer of DPC and a former colleague of Ansel Adams, I gotta say the expressiveness of the mid-tones here very much reminds me of his work. Well done!
Congrats on the almost-ribbon on your first entry! I suffered from the same start (although it was 100 years ago when it was a lot easier to do well here).
edit: congrats on your RIBBON :) You can almost only go down from here but we hope you stick around.
Welcome to the site. Look forward to seeing more of your work. It's obvious that you have crazy skills to share with us.
I know it's already been said but I have to say it again: Great name!
Whoa!!! An honorable mention on your first try. And a 6.7 overall average. Woo hoo for you! If this is an indication of your talent and eye. . . .I have a feeling it will be the first of MANY top finishers for you! CONGRATULATIONS!
Lovely. Wonderful textures. Nice leading line formed by the mist. It's a little dark on my calibrated monitor ... you may lose points for that, or fail to attract voters who just vote the thumbs. But top marks from me! Best in show.
